WILDERNESS VISION QUEST

2011

 

A Vision Quest is one of the oldest forms of Native American Ceremony.  Through this ceremony -- which includes purification, prayer, and transformation -- one seeks vision for oneself, the People and the Earth.

  

Vision Quest II:  March 18-20 Weekend

Preparatory Class:  February 18, 6PM

 

Vision Quest:  April 15-17 Weekend

Preparatory Classes:  April 7 & 14, 6PM

 

Vision Quest:  October 14-16 Weekend

Preparatory Classes:  October 6 & October 13, 6PM

 

Vision Quest:  November 4-6 Weekend

Preparatory Classes:  October 27 & November 3, 6PM

 

Fee for classes, quest, and follow-up:  $275.

       and/or Mother Earth Spirituality by Ed McGaa

 

 

Prerequisite for Quest:  Participation in a Sweatlodge

NATIVE AMERICAN SWEAT LODGE

2011

 

    THE SWEAT LODGE CEREMONY IS A NATIVE AMERICAN PURIFICATION RITUAL.  WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US IN THIS CEREMONY, OUR MEDIUM OF PRAYER .

 

 WHERE:  Home of Caleb and Rachel Spencer:  Take I-49N to 726E, turn right, then left onto

Frontage Rd., take right at Don’s Specialty Meats.  At stop sign take right onto Hwy 1252, proceed for 5.7 miles (till asphalt ends).  Turn right on Cultivateur Rd., right at Simon Latour Rd.  Their home is the last house on right before the cul de sac.

 

TIME: 6 PM except summer months – June, July, Aug. when the time is 6:30 AM

 

BRING: 2 towels, drums/rattles and wear shorts/skirt and sleeveless top.

 

PREPARE: Eat last meal before 2 PM, drink plenty of fluids and eat foods with potassium.

 

PREPARE SPIRITUALLY!

    Caleb and Rachel graciously offer their land for these monthly sweats.  We are grateful.  Consequently, we ask that you refrain from entering their home except for necessity and that you remain abstinent from alcohol and drugs at least a week before sweat.  We look forward to sharing this ritual with you.
